  • Financial Reality Fair

InRoads Credit Union is hosting a FINANCIAL REALITY FAIR  mandatory for all senior students on Tuesday, January 28 from 8:30-9:30 AM in the SHS Gym.  The Financial Reality Fair offers a hands-on learning experience to explore what life after high school might look like.  Students are given careers, income and debt to match what they plan to pursue after high school.  Students must balance their needs and wants to build a lifestyle that they can afford.

The event is a graduation requirement. Attendance will be taken.  If students are unable to attend, they need to check-in with their counselor for an alternate assignment.

All students are encouraged to download the "Bite of Reality 2" App prior to the event. Kindles are available for students that do not have a personal device.

  • Inclement Weather

In case of inclement weather conditions, the Scappoose School District will either start school with a 2-hour delay or completely cancel school. Busses will be delayed 2 hours. For example, if your child usually gets picked up at 7:35 am the bus should be at your stop at 9:35 am.

If the weather does not improve within the 2-hour delay the remainder of the school day may be canceled. The decision to have a 2-hour delay or cancel school will be communicated through Scappoose School District’s School Messenger phone system. Each family with an active phone number will receive a call and email. Please let the school office know if there have been any changes to your contact information.

Cancellation information will also be available via FlashAlert and your local news station. If school is canceled, all after school activities are canceled. The decision to delay or cancel school will apply to every school in the Scappoose School District.

  • Financial Aid

It is imperative that every college bound student fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  The majority of scholarship funds students receive are awarded from the college in which the student will attend.  Many scholarship funds are awarded based on information provided on the FAFSA.

FAFSA opens October 1st of the student's senior year and uses prior-prior year tax information.  For example, 2020 graduates will use tax information from 2018 to fill out their FAFSA on or as close to October 1, 2019 as possible.

Students, parents, and borrowers are required to use a FSA ID, made up of a username and password, to access certain U.S. Department of Education websites. Your FSA ID is used to confirm your identity when accessing your financial aid information and electronically signing your FAFSA documents.
