    J Term Survey

Scappoose High School is excited to offer J Term during the month January.

Our J-Term Survey will be a little different this year.  The J Term schedule has been built prior to the survey.  We hope this change will allow us to better predict the interest in our classes if students can know what is offered.

    J TERM SURVEY GUIDE

Please read all course descriptions carefully!  There are over 80 amazing classes that have been proposed, including over 20 new classes!  Please not any course fees or prerequisites listed.

The courses that students choose on the J Term Survey will NOT be used for placement into a class. This information is used solely by the SHS counseling department to determine which classes will be offered to students during forecasting in December.

    FAFSA

It is imperative that every college bound student fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  The majority of scholarship funds students receive are awarded from the college in which the student will attend.  Many scholarship funds are awarded based on information provided on the FAFSA.

FAFSA opens October 1st of the student's senior year and uses prior-prior year tax information.  For example, 2019 graduates will use tax information from 2017 to fill out their FAFSA on or as close to October 1, 2018 as possible.

Students, parents, and borrowers are required to use a FSA ID, made up of a username and password, to access certain U.S. Department of Education websites. Your FSA ID is used to confirm your identity when accessing your financial aid information and electronically signing your FAFSA documents.
