Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Rachel Kroon
Hi everyone! My name is Rachel Kroon, and I've been teaching elementary grades in Scappoose School District for 11 years now. I hold a Bachelor's degree from Lewis and Clark College, and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Concordia University. I have taught 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades (in that order!) and this is my 4th year teaching 3rd grade at Warren Elementary. Teaching is a passion for me because I love helping children grow as learners, helping them realize their unique talents, and helping them gain confidence in their abilities. I love to teach all subjects, but math is one of my favorites! I was also recently accepted into the ESOL endorsement program at Lewis and Clark College and am very excited to be taking courses that will enable me to better serve students with English as a second language. In fact, I'm finding that the teaching strategies, background knowledge, and constant reflection on my practice as an educator is highly beneficial for all students!
Outside of teaching school, I have a busy life with my sweet daughter! We are heavily involved in Columbia County 4H, and I am the leader of two very large 4H groups out here. I enjoy traveling, raising rabbits, riding our horse, reading, and spending time with friends and family. Living and working in the town of Scappoose also enables me to get to know the families I work with a bit better, and look forward to fostering those relationships. For all of you with children at Warren Elementary, I look forward to working with you and your children at our wonderful school!
