Step 1: Apply
Complete the interdistrict transfer application during the application window.

Step 2: Priority Placement
Priority students are placed first in accordance with Board policy:

• Siblings of currently enrolled students
• Students continuing after a change in residence
• Students completing a district charter school pathway

Step 3: Lottery (if needed)
If applications exceed available seats, a lottery will be conducted by grade level.

Step 4: Waitlist
Students not selected will be placed on a waitlist in order.

April 14-May 8 – Application window

Week of May 11 – Lottery (if needed)

By May 15 – Notification to families

Who Should Apply

You should consider applying for interdistrict transfer for the 2026-2027 school year if:

• You live outside the Scappoose School District
  • And your student is entering Kindergarten or grades 7–12
  • And you are able to provide transportation to and from school

This process may be a good fit if:

• Your student is completing a district charter school
• You have a currently enrolled student and are applying for a sibling
• Your family has moved out of district and your student would like to remain enrolled

This process may not be a good fit if:

• Your student is entering grades 1–6
• You are unable to provide transportation
• You are seeking guaranteed placement

Important Information

• Academic performance, athletics, IEP status, and demographics are not considered
• Transportation is not provided outside district boundaries
• Attendance and behavior expectations apply to all accepted students

Will all grades have openings?
No. Openings are limited. There are no openings for grades 1–6.

What happens if more students apply than there are seats?
A lottery will be conducted after priority placements.

Can I apply after May 8?
No. All applications must be submitted during the application window.

When will I know the result?
Families will be notified by May 15.

What if my student is not selected?
Your student will be placed on a waitlist and may be contacted if space becomes available.

Are academics or test scores considered?
No. The district does not consider academics, athletics, IEP status, or demographics.

Will transportation be provided?
No. Transportation is not provided outside district boundaries.
