Degrees and Certifications:
BS - Marine Biology, Oregon State University MS - Science Education, Oregon State University
I've been at Scappoose Middle School for a few years now, but I've been teaching all sorts of science for nearly a decade. I graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in Marine Biology before going back to OSU for a master's in Science Education. I've loved science and the outdoors my entire life and I consider myself a major "science geek." With my background it was only natural that I teach STEM and Environmental Science here at SMS, and I am happy to now also teach AVID as well.
When not in school I love spending time with my wife, my family, and my friends and my dog. I love being outside, where I enjoy fishing hunting, hiking, camping, and playing sports. I also enjoy traveling, reading, watching movies, and cheering on my Beavers.
I love science, I'm passionate about education at all ages, and I love being a teacher. I hope to encourageall my students to find whatever they love and run with it, even if it isn't science. I encourage collaboration and team work and I try my best to create a comfortable classroom experience where all students can get as excited about science as I am.
Please don't hesitate to email or call me if you ever have any questions or concerns.
