• The 2021-2022 school year is my first year teaching at Scappoose Middle School. I joined the staff a little after the start of the school year and have enjoyed the welcoming and supportive atmosphere.

This year I am teaching Art Exploration and Digital art. In art classes we will explore the elements and principles of design and the basics of drawing as well as gaining experience using a variety of art mediums. In Digital Art we will focus on Photography. Students will learn about the rules of photography as well as tips and tricks used in photography to improve the quality of photos taken.

I am excited to work with your students and help them grow and improve as artists and photographers.

A little about me: In my free time I enjoy working on art projects and crafting. I like spending time at the beach and riding my horse, but mostly I love spending time with my daughter and husband doing fun activities together. I grew up on a small farm in a rural area of Hillsboro. Growing up I loved animals and art. I eventually decided to pursue a career as an art teacher and attended Western Oregon University for both my Bachelors and Masters degrees. After graduating I worked as a substitute and long term sub for many area school districts, including Scappoose. I always enjoyed my time spent in the Scappoose School District. The community connection is truly special and I am excited to have the opportunity to be a part of such a positive and supportive community.
