Hi my name is Mary Rilatt and I teach special education at Petersen Elementary. I started at Petersen in 2016 and before that I was a special education teacher in North Clackamas. Teaching has been something I have had a passion for since I was in high school, doing community service where I worked with at risk youth in the inner North Portland area. 

 

I love doing small group instruction and thrive on seeing strong growth in my students and celebrating with them on every accomplishment big or small. 

 

When I am not at work, I enjoy baking and decorating cakes which my co-workers get to enjoy often, going to the coast, and spending time with my family and my dog Matcha.
