Hello! I am Allyson Richard and I am happy to be a teacher at Otto Petersen Elementary!

Growing up, my dad was in the military, so I lived all over! We finally landed in St. Helens in 2000 and I have lived in Columbia County ever since! 

I graduated from the University of Portland with my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and went on to get my Masters from Western Oregon University. In 2015, I was hired to teach 6th grade at Hudson Park Elementary in Rainier, Oregon. When I found out that there was a position open at OPE, I jumped at the chance to work where I live and here I am today!

Outside of school, I try and spend as much time outside with my daughter, Taylor, and son, Jackson. My husband grew up sailing on the Columbia River, so during the summers, you can find us on our boat as much as we can! I am a huge fan of Star Trek, the Marvel Universe, rock and roll music, dark chocolate, yoga, and gardening!
